With the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey on October 29, 1923, this historic day crowned our nation’s independence and democracy, marking a true turning point in history.
As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, we honor our past while embracing our hopes for the future. Over this century, great strides have been made thanks to the dedication, perseverance, and determination of the Turkish nation. Today, Turkey stands on the world stage as a modern state with a respected place among nations.
The vision and leadership of the Republic’s founder, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, transformed Turkey into a strong and contemporary country. His principles and reforms instilled in us a love of our homeland, as well as the values of science, art, and freedom. By safeguarding these principles, the Republic of Turkey has continued to progress and maintain its significant role internationally.
Throughout the past hundred years, the Republic of Turkey has overcome many challenges. It has achieved remarkable progress in economic development, social services, education, and strengthening the justice system. At the same time, Turkey has contributed to peace both regionally and globally.
Of course, much work still lies ahead. The centennial of the Republic offers opportunities to create innovative and sustainable solutions, to reinforce democratic principles, to advance social justice, and to strengthen international cooperation.
In this meaningful year, we must remember our shared responsibilities to uphold the vision and values of the Republic of Turkey. We should act with tolerance, unity, and solidarity. Together, we must strive for a future grounded in freedom, equality, justice, and human rights.
On the 100th anniversary of our Republic, with these values guiding our words and actions, we can carry our country further forward and leave a strong legacy for future generations.
